Bulk Barcode Printing
Queued bulk label printing from ZIP files.
ExploreGuide
When hundreds of labels must be printed in the field, in a warehouse or on a production line, the method directly affects time and error rate. This guide compares the two methods objectively.
If you print a few labels a day and they change often, printing one by one is enough. If you print hundreds at once, need to keep the order and must resume after an interruption, queued bulk printing is faster and causes fewer errors.
Comparison
| Criterion | One by one | Queued bulk printing |
|---|---|---|
| Suitable volume | A few labels | Hundreds of labels |
| Preparation | Each label is opened separately | The file is selected once |
| Order | Depends on the user | Kept by the app |
| Interruptions | Find your place by hand | Resume where it stopped |
| Tracking | Usually none | Used and remaining counts are visible |
Technical
Mobile label printers accept commands in a specific language; CPCL and ZPL are the most common in the field. Make sure the app you use supports your printer's language. If labels arrive as ready-made images (such as PNG or JPG), the app must scale them correctly to the label size and print the code so it can be scanned.
Field Reality
In the field, label rolls run out, printer batteries drop and shifts change. With one-by-one printing you check by hand which labels were printed, and the same label may be printed twice. With a queue, the position is saved and the job continues with the remaining labels.
Example
The SETS mobile app queues PNG, JPG or BMP label images from a ZIP file and sends them in order to a Bluetooth printer that supports CPCL or ZPL; the user controls pause, resume and cancel. Every print action is recorded in the central panel with user, device, location and time.
